The DRC endorses Amnesty International’s open statement concerning the greater risks faced by persons with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic. There is an immediate need for an independent human rights oversight body to ensure that human rights are protected now more than ever during the state of emergency.
