Community Forum and Celebration
of the Systemic Human Rights Remedy

NEWSFLASH! Open to the public… Livestream the Community Forum and Celebration this Saturday Dec 9th at 2 pm – To hear more about the human rights remedy tune into Vicky Levack, Vince Calderhead, and others speak about next steps in monitoring the changes – look for it on the DRC Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/DisabilityRightsCoalitionNS
The Disability Rights Coalition invites you to a community forum and celebration of the systemic human rights remedy (a plain language summary of the human rights remedy is now available here) to end the discrimination against persons with disabilities in their access to social assistance and supports and services to live in community.
The discriminatory treatment includes closing institutions for persons with disabilities, ending waitlists and creating access to supports and services to live in the community of your choice, and fulfilling the right to social assistance that meets the needs of all people.
We need you moving forward. At the forum we will look at how DRC members and allies can contribute to this human rights remedy to ensure that the 5 year plan that forms part of the legal remedy is followed and that the discriminatory treatment is brought to an end.
